Hydrone-R, Saipem's first resident Underwater Intervention Drone (UID), has completed a new autonomous survey mission over the Arctic coral area of ​​Njord, Norway. Teledyne Demonstrates Autonomous System for Anti-Submarine Warfare to NATO Members in the North Atlantic

With assistance from the Icelandic Coast Guard, the Teledyne team was able to deploy the autonomous underwater gliders into the North Atlantic in the strategic Greenland – Iceland gap from the Coast Guard Ship ICGV Þór. The Sentinel Glider towed a passive acoustic thin-line hydrophone array specifically designed to identify surface and subsurface vehicle noise in the water. The silent autonomous gliders, transversing the water column to 1,000 meters and equipped with the sensitive passive acoustic array, create a formidable barrier for subsea adversaries.

Oceanology International Announces First Conference Media Supporter

The organisers of Oceanology International 2026 (Oi26) have unveiled specialist publication Ocean Robotics Planet as the first ever official media supporter for its renowned conference programme. Expanding the reach and influence of the conference sessions, Oi’s new strategic media collaborations will pair some of the ocean technology industry’s key titles with the relevant technical track at next year’s event at London’s ExCeL in March.
