Trelleborg’s applied technologies operation will showcase its latest innovations in ultra-deep-water composite foam solutions at the Oceanology show in London, England. Located on stand P100, the company will present a number of advancements across its Eccofloat® materials range, including its latest ultra-deep-water development the TG11500. This was developed for the Triton 36000/2 Full Ocean Depth (FOD) Submersible, a manned submersible vehicle used for The Five Deeps expedition including dives to full Ocean depth of 11500MSW.

Eccofloat® composite foams provide high performance and ultra-low densities by using only the highest specification hollow glass microspheres, called Eccospheres®. These are combined within a rigid, high-strength resin system, overcoming the issue of weight for deep sea exploration.

David Clayton, Sales Director for Trelleborg’s applied technologies operation in Europe, states: “Our latest TG11500 material was specifically developed for repeated use in ultra-deep high-pressure environments and specially chosen for the ‘Triton 36000/2 Full Ocean Depth (FOD) submersible, making up some 70 percent of the overall body of the vessel. Manufactured from full ocean depth material, the TG11500 is a low-density high-performance solution to a unique application.”

On Stand Solutions at Oceanology will include:
Njord Trimsyn syntactic floats designed to offer additional buoyancy in all marine applications and Njord Trimlok umbilical clamping system, created to streamline the attachment of Njord Trimsyn floats.

Njord UB (Umbilical Buoyancy) is designed for use in conjunction with ROVs to keep the required length of umbilical buoyant underwater, constructed using a polyethylene outer shell filled with a high-performance syntactic foam core.

Njord Linksyn & Njord Linksyn HD – Developed to provide buoyancy and bend control to the umbilical on larger trenching vehicles, preventing the umbilical from bending below its minimum bend radius.

Delegates will have the opportunity to meet with Trelleborg composite experts to discuss the importance of selecting the right materials for projects, as well as Trelleborg’s proven manufacturing techniques and in-house CNC capabilities.
