North-east robotics company agrees international partnerships to add value to market

Spectis Robotics, a leading provider of remotely operated robotic crawlers and camera systems, has announced two international distribution agreements.

Formerly Inuktun Europe, Spectis Robotics re-branded in June with managing director Brian Storie retaining full ownership of the Aberdeen-based firm.

The new company has moved swiftly to agree a deal with Dekra Visatec GmbH, a designer and manufacturer of high-quality visual inspection camera systems for specialist industrial markets.

The German company has 20 years’ experience at the forefront of innovation in the non-destructive visual testing market, including underwater and radiation tolerant camera, crawler systems and lighting modules for the nuclear, offshore oil and gas and renewables markets.

Spectis Robotics has also reached an agreement with SuperDroid Robots Inc. Designed and built in North Carolina, its range of standard and customised tactical robots are used for dangerous applications where it is impractical to have a human operator present.

Through a set of sensors, the vehicle observes the environment and either makes autonomous decisions about its behaviour or relays information to an operator at a separate location.

Spectis Robotics specialises in the sale, rental and service of robotic crawler vehicles and inspection cameras for clients in the oil and gas, nuclear, renewables and civil engineering sectors, among others.

The business has also been formally recognised for the standard of its quality and environmental management systems, having achieved recertification to ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 as well as transitioning to ISO 45001:2018 for occupational health and safety management.

Based in Grandholm, Bridge of Don, it was previously the European authorised distributor and service centre for Inuktun products.
