Hughes Subsea, an OEG Group company, secured a contract to deliver daughter-craft diving services for the Anasuria FPSO, positioned 175km east of Aberdeen. Throughout the month-long campaign, the Hughes team provided support for mooring chain change out, executed the installation and removal of sea-chest blanks, and successfully completed a comprehensive inspection program.

Subsea Data Systems Receives Grant Support From Schmidt Marine Technology Partners

Subsea Data Systems, Inc., a partnership between Samara/Data and Ocean Specialists, Inc., is pleased to announce new grant support from Schmidt Marine Technology Partners (SMTP), part of the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Network. SMTP provides “venture philanthropy” funding to support the development of new ocean technologies which require sustained support to achieve full potential and availability to the broadest user base. The grant will enable Subsea Data Systems to continue development of the first complete sensor system for SMART Cable repeaters (amplifiers) that will be incorporated into future regional and trans-oceanic telecom cables.

The vessel has been under management by N-Sea on a long-term vessel agreement with DOF Subsea Rederi AS for the last few years and has worked since then for the Royal Dutch Navy, on a long-term charter.

After two years of warm stack, Namaka Subsea assisted a client with the reactivation of their recently purchased Dive Support Vessel (DSV) in the Middle East by initially carrying out the IMCA DESIGN audits of the saturation and surface orientated diving systems onboard. Following the DESIGN audits, a review and update of the diving system Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) assessments for both diving systems and the development of the vessel/system specific operating and emergency procedures were also completed.
