Statoil ASA has awarded Ocean Installer a substantial contract for marine operations on the Askeladd project in the Barents Sea.

Haugesund, Norway - 1st March 2018 - DeepOcean AS, a subsidiary of DeepOcean Group Holding BV (DeepOcean), has been awarded a significant contract for performing riser replacement and construction work in the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea.

Statoil ASA has awarded Ocean Installer a substantial contract for marine operations on the Johan Castberg project in the Barents Sea.

Statoil awards a contract to Alcatel Submarine Networks for Permanent reservoir monitoring (PRM) on the Johan Sverdrup field. The seismic technology – a potential digital enabler for the field – will be a key contributor to delivering on Johan Sverdrup’s 70 percent recovery ambition.

In connection with the Award in Predefined Areas (APA) for 2017 Statoil has been offered interests in 31 exploration licences on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS), 17 of these as operator, and 14 as a partner.

DeepOcean AS, a subsidiary of DeepOcean Group Holding BV (DeepOcean), has been awarded a significant contract for performing marine operation scope on the Snorre Expansion Project in the North Sea.

Subsea connector specialist Hydratight has completed an oil and gas industry first by supplying and supporting the subsea installation of three remote connectors in just three weeks for Statoil off the west coast of Norway.

A universal interface to facilitate Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) docking with subsea structures is being developed through international collaboration between companies and universities in Brazil, Norway, Poland, Sweden and the UK. The consortium, led by WiSub, includes leaders from industry and academia; Bergen University, DOF Subsea, easySubsea, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Kongsberg Maritime, Saab Dynamics, Sonardyne, Statoil, Swire Seabed and Warsaw University of Technology.

Ocean Installer has been awarded a contract for subsea installations and tie-in operations for Statoil on Johan Sverdrup, as well as Utgard and Bauge.

The world’s first* commercial onshore controlled ROV operations commenced at IKM Subsea headquarters in Bryne Norway 12th June.

Oceaneering International, Inc. (NYSE:OII) announced that one of its oilfield business segments, Asset Integrity, has been awarded a three-year operational inspection Frame Agreement extension with Statoil Petroleum AS.

The contract provides for the testing, and installation of an electrical, permanently seabed installed RROV (Residential - ROV). The system will interface with IKMS’s Onshore Control Center via Tampnet, a dedicated fiber-based network system for the platforms in question. The systems are equally design to operate on the 4G mobile broadband system.

Aker Solutions will provide design engineering for the upgrading of the semi-submersible Njord A platform in Norway. The company will as a subcontractor of Kvaerner take part in upgrading the platform after operator Statoil exercised an option in an agreement awarded in April 2016. The option is for work in the engineering, procurement and construction phase of the project. Aker Solutions' share of the work is valued at about NOK 1 billion and will be booked in the company's first-quarter orders. "This is the largest offshore platform in Norway to have been brought to shore for a total upgrade," said Luis Araujo, chief executive officer of Aker Solutions. "We're excited to continue our work with Kvaerner and Statoil on this landmark project, which will enable the Njord field to keep producing oil and gas for several more decades."

C-Kore Systems recently delivered two further C-Kore units to Statoil. The C-Kore Subsea Testing Tools proved the insulation resistance and continuity of spare electrical cables located on the seabed that had no connection to topside equipment. The C-Kore Subsea Testing Tools are used on both fault-finding and construction campaigns to confirm the health or find faults in all types of electrical assets, including umbilicals, EFLs, SCMs and distribution units.

In December 2016, the Norwegian underwater robotics company Eelume AS has successfully built and demonstrated the world’s first snake-like underwater robot, constructed for offshore operations. The testing took place in deep waters of Trondheimsfjorden, and at the PREZIOSO Linjebygg Subsea Test Center in Trondheim.

Ocean Installer has recently completed the very first permanent subsea installation at the Johan Sverdrup field, marking the kick-off of the Johan Sverdrup offshore work. The offshore campaign took place late January in line with project plans and schedule and involved the installation of a subsea template for water injection. The template weighed 290 ton and was installed making use of the CSV Normand Vision.

Aker Solutions won a contract from Statoil to build the pipeline facilities, modifications and tie-ins needed at the Mongstad terminal to receive oil from the North Sea Johan Sverdrup field. The contract, valued at about NOK 350 million, is for engineering, procurement, construction and installation services. The work will be completed in 2019.

Wood Group has been awarded the detailed design scope of the subsea tie-back from the Utgard gas and condensate field to the Sleipner facilities, in the Norwegian North Sea. The $1million workscope is the first call off under the master service agreement (MSA) signed in May 2016.
