IKM Subsea announced the award of a major ROV services contract for the fields Visund and Snorre B in the North Sea last August.

The contract provides for the testing, and installation of an electrical, permanently seabed installed RROV (Residential - ROV). The system will interface with IKMS’s Onshore Control Center via Tampnet, a dedicated fiber-based network system for the platforms in question. The systems are equally design to operate on the 4G mobile broadband system.

Aker Solutions Secures NOK 1 Billion in Work for Njord A Upgrade

Aker Solutions will provide design engineering for the upgrading of the semi-submersible Njord A platform in Norway. The company will as a subcontractor of Kvaerner take part in upgrading the platform after operator Statoil exercised an option in an agreement awarded in April 2016. The option is for work in the engineering, procurement and construction phase of the project. Aker Solutions' share of the work is valued at about NOK 1 billion and will be booked in the company's first-quarter orders. "This is the largest offshore platform in Norway to have been brought to shore for a total upgrade," said Luis Araujo, chief executive officer of Aker Solutions. "We're excited to continue our work with Kvaerner and Statoil on this landmark project, which will enable the Njord field to keep producing oil and gas for several more decades."

C-Kore Systems delivers units to Statoil

C-Kore Systems recently delivered two further C-Kore units to Statoil. The C-Kore Subsea Testing Tools proved the insulation resistance and continuity of spare electrical cables located on the seabed that had no connection to topside equipment. The C-Kore Subsea Testing Tools are used on both fault-finding and construction campaigns to confirm the health or find faults in all types of electrical assets, including umbilicals, EFLs, SCMs and distribution units.

Eelume has successfully built and demonstrated the world’s first subsea snake-like robot

In December 2016, the Norwegian underwater robotics company Eelume AS has successfully built and demonstrated the world’s first snake-like underwater robot, constructed for offshore operations. The testing took place in deep waters of Trondheimsfjorden, and at the PREZIOSO Linjebygg Subsea Test Center in Trondheim.

First offshore installation work completed on Johan Sverdrup

Ocean Installer has recently completed the very first permanent subsea installation at the Johan Sverdrup field, marking the kick-off of the Johan Sverdrup offshore work. The offshore campaign took place late January in line with project plans and schedule and involved the installation of a subsea template for water injection. The template weighed 290 ton and was installed making use of the CSV Normand Vision.

Aker Solutions Wins Contract to Build Johan Sverdrup Pipeline Receiving Facility at Mongstad

Aker Solutions won a contract from Statoil to build the pipeline facilities, modifications and tie-ins needed at the Mongstad terminal to receive oil from the North Sea Johan Sverdrup field. The contract, valued at about NOK 350 million, is for engineering, procurement, construction and installation services. The work will be completed in 2019.

Wood Group secures subsea tieback detailed design scope with Statoil in the North Sea

Wood Group has been awarded the detailed design scope of the subsea tie-back from the Utgard gas and condensate field to the Sleipner facilities, in the Norwegian North Sea. The $1million workscope is the first call off under the master service agreement (MSA) signed in May 2016.
