Fincantieri, the only shipbuilding group in the world active in all high-tech marine industry sectors, and Saipem, global leader in the engineering and construction of infrastructure for the energy sector, both offshore and onshore, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to evaluate commercial and industrial opportunities for cooperation in the field of autonomous subsea vehicles and their integration with surface and underwater units. The Memorandum, signed at Palazzo Marina, the headquarters of the General Staff of the Italian Navy, is among the initiatives aimed at promoting and developing national excellence in the Underwater sector.

Saipem has successfully completed installation works for the Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) offshore windfarm, marking an important milestone in the project.

Saipem has been awarded by bp a contract for offshore activities in the Gulf of Mexico. The contract is related to the Argos Floating Production Unit (FPU), a cutting-edge facility designed for oil and gas production in deepwater environments. The Argos FPU is located in the Green Canyon Block 780, approximately 1,400 metre water depth.

Saipem has been awarded three new offshore contracts and two competitive FEED contracts totalling approximately 650 million USD.

Saipem and Seaway7 today announced that they have entered into a commercial collaboration agreement to jointly identify, bid and execute fixed offshore wind projects. The first contract - in partnership with Aker Solutions do Brasil - has been awarded by Total Energies, for the LAPA Southwest (LAPA SW) Development Project, a deepwater oil field in the Santos Basin in the South Atlantic, 270 kilometres off the coast of São Paulo, in Brazil.

Saipem has been awarded new contracts in Guyana and Egypt for a total amount of approximately 1.2 billion USD. The first contract has been awarded by ExxonMobil Guyana, subject to government approvals, for the UARU oil field development project, located in the Stabroek block offshore Guyana at a water depth of around 2,000 meters.

Saipem and Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL) have signed an extension of their existing Services Agreement to include the provision of FlatFish, Saipem’s underwater drone for environmental monitoring and inspection of asset integrity.

Saipem has been awarded a contract by Shell and Petrobras for the utilisation of its FlatFish subsea drone in two pilot projects encompassing the inspection campaigns of two ultra-deepwater fields offshore Brazil, operated respectively by the two energy companies. These two projects with Shell and Petrobras are pilots and fall within the framework of the research and development programme of ANP, the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels. Saipem launches its new sustainable technology for subsea pipelaying which considerably reduces environmental impacts on the seabed. The "Underwater Cold Bending" technology was presented during the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), one of the leading international events in the offshore energy sector.
