Request for Tutorial Presenters Due January 8, 2018 The Local Organizing Committee is accepting applications for tutorials to be presented at the OCEANS’18 MTS/IEEE Kobe / Techno-Ocean2018 at the Kobe Convention Center in Kobe, Hyogo on Monday, May 28, 2018. We request Tutorial submissions be made by January 8, 2018. Submissions will be evaluated as they are received. Acceptance notices will be sent as soon as the committee completes its review and makes a decision so those providing the tutorials can plan and prepare. Final notice of acceptance will be issued no later than January 31, 2018 in order to facilitate registrant sign-up. Submissions that are received after January 8 will be considered, but at the discretion of the local technical committee, these will be treated as free-of-charge workshops if space is available, and there will be no fee paid to the provider

OCEANS'17 MTS/IEEE Aberdeen Call for Tutorials Due 1st February 2017

The Local Organizing Committee is inviting applications for tutorials to be held at the OCEANS'17 Conference at the AECC, Aberdeen on Monday, June 19, 2017. We are seeking applications from interested parties to hold either half-day tutorials (three and a half to four hours, including a 20-30 minute break) or full-day tutorials (eight hours, with a suitable amount of time allocated for a lunch break). Tutorials are meant to compliment the technical program. Their purpose is to describe fundamental elements of a technology and/or the “nuts and bolts” of the subject. The subjects would include core topics and areas of knowledge of broad interest within the oceans and oceans engineering community. Topic areas include established or emerging research within the field itself, as well as from related fields or application areas that are clearly relevant to the oceans community. Tutorials are held in a classroom like setting.

The Marine Technology Society and the Oceanic Engineering Society of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) cosponsor a joint annual conference and exposition on ocean science, engineering, and policy. Held at the Portola Plaza and Monterey Marriott Hotels, the OCEANS conference covers four days and will feature 130 exhibitors, 11 tutorials, 8 workshops and special sessions, nearly 20 student posters, and a record number 510 technical presentations. It looks to be an exceptional week of information-sharing, networking, and engaging in thought-provoking discussions.
