Exail, formerly iXblue, recently took part in the Digital Horizon Unmanned & Artificial Intelligence Exercise in Bahrain, organized by the US Navy. The U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet held the three-week exercise in December to test new unmanned technologies, as part of its plans to establish the world’s first Unmanned Surface Vehicle (USV) fleet of one hundred drones in the Gulf by the end of the summer.

Tethys Robotics is an Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) developer founded by Christian Engler and fellow pioneering ETH Zurich students in 2019. Since Tethys launched with their flagship vehicle, the ‘SCUBA 2.0’ they have found further success with the recent release of ‘Proteus’, an omnidirectional ROV appointed with a stereo camera, depth sensor, IMU, SBL and sonar, certified to 300m depths.

Groton-based ThayerMahan, Inc., announced today that it has executed a cooperative partnering agreement with USA Environmental, Inc., a market leader in identification, removal and disposal of unexploded ordnance (UXO) and discarded military munitions (DMM). Partnering with USA Environmental represents an important addition to ThayerMahan's expanding ability to search, detect, remove and dispose of these hazardous explosive items from the seabed.

UDT 2019, the 32nd in the annual Underwater Defence Technology event series, will open in the Stockholmsmässan Exhibition Centre on 13th May for three days. Stockholmsmässan is close to the city centre, well served by regular metro trains, with several large hotels nearby. Stockholm Arlanda Airport is only 30 minutes away by commuter train, which runs 8 times every hour. The venue is the Nordic region’s largest exhibition centre and offers the exhibition plenty of room to expand, whilst simultaneously hosting UDT’s sister events – ITEC, which focuses on military training and simulation, and Electronic Warfare. 2019 is the first year that all three events are co-located, enabling attendees to spark new ideas, create new collaborations and partnerships, and extend networks. It also provides senior military personnel with a more efficient use of their increasingly precious time, thereby growing the number of officers in attendance.
