Kraken Robotics announces it has received purchase orders for synthetic aperture sonar (SAS) and battery products totaling approximately $12 million. Orders for Kraken SAS, KATFISH™ towed SAS spares, and SeaPower™ batteries have been placed by multiple organizations, including Teledyne Marine, Terradepth, and two navies from NATO member countries.

SubC Imaging has launched the Rayfin Uplink, a camera technology that gives operators access to digital HD & 4K imaging using the ROVs they already own. The system provides a direct digital connection between the Rayfin Uplink ROV camera and a topside control unit or laptop. SubC’s Uplink technology uses the coax or twisted pair already inside many ROV tethers, giving established fleets access to modern imaging performance without fiber optic upgrades.

France-headquartered STAPEM Group has chosen Sonardyne’s Ranger 2 Ultra-Short BaseLine (USBL) technology as the permanent solution for one of its flagship offshore support vessels, the STAPEM Boreale.

The UK’s National Oceanography Centre (NOC) and Madeira Island’s Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology and Innovation (ARDITI) have celebrated a landmark collaboration to advance deep-ocean research. The arrival of RRS Discovery in Madeira marked the acquisition of two state-of-the-art NOC Autosub Long Range (ALR) autonomous underwater vehicles by ARDITI - the first time the technology has been sold internationally.

The projects will run consecutively in 2026 with PXGEO deploying its proprietary MNode 4C ocean bottom node (OBN) technology as part of the scope. The company’s MNode technology delivers a 300-day battery life, enabling extended deployment time, which is well suited for larger, more complex surveys. The enhanced operating time means surveys can run uninterrupted for extended periods, reducing the need for frequent retrieval and redeployment and projects with timelines challenged by high levels of environmental standby.

Successfully delivered in October 2025, the survey covered both the wind farm site and the export cable corridor, located approximately 12 nautical miles off the coast of Rimini in the Adriatic Sea. Fugro deployed two dedicated vessels to accelerate data acquisition and ensure efficient coverage of the area. This dual-vessel strategy enabled high-resolution mapping of the seabed and subsurface conditions, using ultra high-resolution shallow seismic data and geophysical investigations, while also identifying and preserving potential archaeological features critical to the project's planning and permitting process.
