The Senior Field Service Engineer (FSE) is responsible for offshore and onshore support, installation, testing, maintenance, repair, technical assistance, and general product training with the customer on the TechnipFMC Schilling Robotics product line. The Senior FSE will be required to travel offshore and onshore to meet the customer needs, conduct installations, and/or train appropriate personnel. They are subject matter experts and provide the highest standard of technical support to customers and other product support personnel who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing the Schilling product. The Senior Field Service Engineer (FSE) is responsible for offshore and onshore support, installation, testing, maintenance, repair, technical assistance, and general product training with the customer on the TechnipFMC Schilling Robotics product line. The Senior FSE will be required to travel offshore and onshore to meet the customer needs, conduct installations, and/or train appropriate personnel. Senior FSE must be able to assess the customers’ question(s) and utilize a thorough and logical process to analyze and troubleshoot the situation to a reasonable result. POSITION DESCRIPTION:
RESPONSIBILITIES: Help customers with technical issues, train personnel on our products, and professionally represent Schilling in front of the customer. Additionally, they will be a voice for the customers’ needs regarding issues and improvements that need to be brought to Schilling’s attention.
• Work offshore and onshore to perform work for a customer on behalf of TechnipFMC Schilling Robotics
• Diagnoses highly complex mechanical, electrical, software and/or system failures using their extensive product knowledge and/or collaborates with onshore engineering resources to determine root cause of issues.
• Determines the most cost effective repair/resolution to minimize customer downtime.
• Prepares reports for analysis of product failure trends and serviceability issues. Leads and/or participates in design reviews for possible solutions to these issues.
• Support special projects and prototype products in the field. These may include one-off jobs where the customer needs specialized equipment or procedures that may not be fully developed and require modification on site.
• Collaborate with engineers at Schilling and customer representatives to finalize products to perform as needed.
• Head up smaller design improvement projects and help steer future product development.
• Virtually provides hands-on technical support to end users of the TechnipFMC Schilling Robotics product lines ranging from low to advanced levels of complexity, including advice to customer on maintenance, repair and con of the manipulator and ROV product lines.
• Review incoming support tickets, accepts/assigns as appropriate, updates knowledge database, keep incidents updated, and close as appropriate.
• Writes and reviews technical reports and bulletins for internal and external customers

REQUIREMENTS:
• 10+ years’ experience assembling, installing, and troubleshooting complex products that integrate mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
• Four-year degree (or experience) in Technology, Engineering or equivalent of higher level education in electronics, mechanics/hydraulics, or software with combined experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge using a wide variety of test equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multi meters, OTDRs, high-voltage test equipment, and test software.
• Experience in troubleshooting highly complex issues involving multiple interrelated systems, and ability to find root causes.
• Ability to read and understand technical documents, schematics and specifications.
• Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to shifting priorities and competing demands.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently and effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including communicating effectively with engineering groups remotely to quickly define issues and work collaboratively to find resolutions
• Adheres to customers and TechnipFMC Schilling Robotics QHSE rules and regulations at all times.
• Must possess (or able to acquire) a passport or special visa permits for international travel.
• Must be able to travel on short-notice and for indefinite periods of time for up to six week periods.
• Must be able to travel overnight as required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
